FIFA ranking: Nigeria moved up to 42nd position

Nigeria have moved up to the 42nd position in the latest list FIFA global rankings released on Thursday.

However the Super Eagles retained their position as the seventh ranked national team in Africa, coming behind Algeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Tunisia, Cape Verde Island and Senegal.
Algeria continue to be the top-ranked African side and are 21st in the world. Cote d’Ivoire are in 24th position in the world and second in Africa. They are followed by Tunisia, Ghana, Senegal, Cape Verde Island, Nigeria, Guinea, Congo DR and Cameroon.
